In 1927, Arpege Lanvin for women was crafted by Andre Fraysse the renowned perfume “Arpege” for Lavine home, its name inspired by the perfumer’s musically inclined daughter. The original 1927 formula remarkably mirrored its musical namesake, with fragrance notes playing in harmonious succession. In 1993, the perfume underwent successful reconstruction, preserving its composition.
It boasts top notes of bergamot, aldehyde, peach, orange blossom, honeysuckle, and orris; a heart of rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, coriander, sensitive plant, tuberose, violet, and geranium; and a base of sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, vanilla, and musk. The bottle also features elegant figures on a black misted background, representing the perfumer’s wife and daughter preparing for a ball.
In October 2009, Lanvin reintroduced Arpege 120, a beloved fragrance originally created in 1927 and reformulated in 1993, with notes including aldehydes, peach, bergamot, orange blossom, honeysuckle, iris, rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, coriander, mimosa, tuberose, geranium, sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, vanilla, and musk.
